WHAT WE TEACH
Six subjects. One curious mind.
RobolabX covers six interconnected STEM subjects across KS1 and KS2 — taught through hands-on projects, never passive learning.
1
Micro:bit & Robotics
Physical computing with BBC Micro:bit — from basic animations in KS1 to weather stations, radio games and data logging in KS2.
2
AI & Robotics
Machine learning, computer vision, predictions and AI ethics — making artificial intelligence accessible from primary school age.
3
Engineering & Building
Structural challenges in KS1 through to building sensor bins, smart rovers and remote control vehicles in KS2.
6
Drone Club
Programme, pilot and fly real indoor drones through 5 phases — ending with the Drone Pilot Championship and certificate.
5
3D Modelling & Design
Canva graphic design in KS1. TinkerCad 3D modelling and printing in KS2 — children design and print their own robot parts.
4
Coding
Scratch, MakeCode Arcade and Code for Life. Block sequences in KS1 progressing to full game-building and algorithm challenges in KS2.

WHY ROBOLABX
Built for curious kids. Loved by parents.
1 / Real skills, not screen time
Children build physical robots, write real code, and solve genuine engineering problems — not passive games or passive watching.
2 / Progressive curriculum from age 5
Our structured 4-unit curriculum grows with the child — from introductory STEM concepts right up to advanced programming and 3D modelling.
3 / Inside your child's school
After-school clubs run on-site, so no extra travel. Children go straight from class to club — convenient for busy families.
4 / Experienced educators, not just coders
Our team combines STEM subject expertise with classroom teaching experience — every session is safe, structured and age-appropriate.

Common questions from parents
1 / What age group is RobolabX suitable for?
RobolabX programmes are designed for children aged 5–14. Early years (aged 5–7) explore introductory STEM concepts through simple, fun activities. Primary age (8–11) build hands-on foundations in coding and robotics. Older children (12–14) tackle advanced programming and engineering challenges. All groups are mixed-ability and fully supported.
2 / Which schools does RobolabX operate in?
We currently run clubs in 27+ schools across Surrey and London. If your child's school isn't on our list yet, email us at info@robolabx.com — we're actively expanding and happy to speak with schools about partnering.
3 / Does my child need any prior coding or robotics experience?
No experience whatsoever is needed. All our sessions start from the absolute basics, and our curriculum is designed to support beginners while still challenging children who have some previous experience. We welcome all levels.
4 / Do I need to provide a laptop or any equipment?
It depends on the programme. For after-school clubs, children use school-provided laptops — nothing needed from home. For the Saturday Club, children should bring their own laptop. For Engineering & Building lessons, no laptop is needed — sessions are fully hands-on. RobolabX provides all robotics kits and Micro:bit boards for every session.
5 / Are staff DBS checked and is my child safe?
Yes — all RobolabX instructors are fully DBS checked. We follow strict collection procedures and only authorised adults may collect children. Your child's safety is our first priority at every session.
