Behaviour Management Policy
At RobolabX, we are committed to creating an inspiring, fun and safe environment where every child can thrive. Our robotics and coding sessions are designed to empower young learners, and positive behaviour is key to ensuring all children enjoy their experience.
Our staff are fully trained in behaviour management, de-escalation and positive reinforcement techniques. They will always work to support and encourage children before any behaviour is formally recorded.
Our Behaviour Expectations
Children attending RobolabX sessions are expected to:
-
Treat others with respect
-
Follow instructions from staff
-
Use equipment safely and responsibly
-
Participate positively in activities
-
Keep hands, feet and objects to themselves
These expectations exist to keep the environment safe, productive and enjoyable for everyone.
Our Three-Step Behaviour Management Process
STEP 1 — Positive Reminder & Redirection
Staff will calmly address the behaviour, explain expectations, and encourage the child to make a positive choice.
This is always our first approach.
No formal record is made at this stage.
STEP 2 — Warning & Reflection Time
If the behaviour continues, the child will receive a clear warning and may be asked to take a short supervised reflection break.
Staff will then briefly discuss what happened and agree on the next steps with the child.
An internal note may be made for monitoring patterns. Parents may be informed at pickup if needed.
STEP 3 — Formal Incident & Escalation
If the behaviour persists or escalates:
-
A formal incident report is completed
-
Parents/guardians are informed
-
The child may be placed on a Behaviour Support Plan
If behaviour continues despite support, RobolabX may request that the child pause or withdraw from future sessions to ensure the safety and well-being of others.
Serious Behaviour
Dangerous or harmful behaviour (e.g., physical aggression, unsafe use of equipment, or abusive language) may result in skipping directly to Step 3.
Working Together
We believe behaviour improves best when staff and families work together. We are committed to communicating clearly and respectfully to support every child.
